Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information The Total Woman Concept (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you visit thetotalwomanconcept.com, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. We’ve tried to keep it in plain English.

Who we are

The Total Woman Concept is a lifestyle blog for women, run from Nigeria and read around the world. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email us at empower@thetotalwomanconcept.com.

What we collect and why

When you subscribe to our newsletter or download a free planner. We collect your email address and, if you choose to give it, your first name. We use these to send you the planner you asked for, our newsletter, and occasional updates about new articles and products. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

When you leave a comment. We collect the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser details to help prevent spam. Your email address is never shown publicly. Comments may be moderated before they appear.

When you share a story with The Circle. Circle submissions are anonymous: we don’t ask for your name or email address. Like any website form, our system may record technical details such as your IP address to block spam, but we never publish these or use them to identify you. Before publishing a story, we remove any details that could identify you or anyone else. Please don’t include information you wouldn’t want shared.

When you buy something from our Shop. Purchases are handled by a third-party payment provider, which acts as the seller of record and processes your payment details directly. We never see or store your full card details. We receive your name, email address, what you bought and your country so we can deliver your purchase and provide support.

When you browse the site. We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular and roughly where visitors are from. This uses cookies and collects information such as your device, browser, pages viewed and approximate location. We use it only to improve the site.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:

  • Essential cookies to keep the site secure and working, including security checks from our hosting provider and page caching.
  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics to measure how the site is used.
  • Local storage to remember small preferences, such as whether you’ve closed our newsletter pop-up, so we don’t keep showing it to you.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly without essential cookies.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the site, and only as much as they need:

  • Hostinger: website hosting, security and our email newsletter service (Hostinger Reach).
  • Google: website analytics and search performance (Google Analytics and Search Console).
  • Our payment provider: processing Shop purchases.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, our readers or the public.

International transfers

Our service providers may store and process information in countries outside your own, including the United States and the European Union. Where this happens, we rely on providers that use recognised safeguards to protect your information.

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Comments: for as long as the comment is published.
  • Shop records: as long as needed for support, accounting and legal requirements.
  • Analytics data: according to Google Analytics retention settings (currently up to 14 months).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, the EU and UK GDPR, and US state privacy laws, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • receive a copy of your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything done before.

To use any of these rights, email empower@thetotalwomanconcept.com. We’ll respond within 30 days. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us at empower@thetotalwomanconcept.com and we’ll delete it.

Links to other websites

Our articles sometimes link to other websites. We’re not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If the changes are significant, we’ll let newsletter subscribers know.
